The CLASSIC REBOOT
This project offered a contemporary take on Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, with a focus on the emotional weight of chapters 34 to 36—Darcy’s dramatic proposal, the vulnerability of his letter, and Elizabeth’s evolving self-awareness.
The aim was to distill these moments into a tactile, visual experience that speaks to both the past and the present. The final deliverables included a mini publication, a recreated letter from Mr. Darcy, a bespoke envelope, a fold-out enclosure, and a series of UV-varnished quote cards. These were all carefully produced using offset lithography and a restrained yet powerful palette of black, white, and bold pink. Each design decision—from paper stock to binding—was made to honour the original text while giving it a fresh, modern form. The result is a body of work that reflects on love, pride, and perception—core themes that continue to resonate today.
